Tonight Emma Kate got to experience the wonderful taste and taunting aromas of rice cereal. It was basically water with a little bit of white stuff floating in it. While sitting in her high chair for the first time, EK made interesting faces but seemed to enjoy it as Alison was feeding her and I was juggling the camera and camcorder. Grandma and Grandpa Kirkland were there to watch!

Her bib, burb cloth, and outfit were covered in rice cereal. She changed into her Pizza Kitchen onesie that her cousins Jake and Megan gave her:

On Christmas Day after lunch we drove to Lenoir City, outside of Knoxville, to celebrate Christmas with Alison’s side of the family. Emma Kate slept almost the entire way!

Emma Kate had her 4-month checkup today. She suffered through another round of shots and didn’t cry too much. The big news was that she nows weighs 15 pounds and 5 ounces! She’s over 50th percentile for her weight and only 10-15th percentile for her height! However, the doctor doesn’t think she will be short or fat. Whew! But we’d love her even if she was short and stout! No more shots until 6-month checkup.
